The Hero’s Journey

Life is difficult…

Life is difficult. Do you believe that? If that’s the case, why do we have it in the first place? We can see only what we can see. There are a lot of things we don’t know. Perhaps, we will die without knowing a lot of things.

Life is a series of challenges from known to unknown. Once we get used to it, we call it a comfort zone. Sooner or later, we have to get out of it. Moving from known to unknown is painful. That’s why life is difficult. Even we fear.

Joseph Campbell says that every myth in the world has a common archetypal structure. He calls it the Hero’s Journey. When we see the diagram of the Hero’s Journey, somehow we’re encouraged and inspired as if we see a glimpse of Truth.
